Daily Photo Q&A #28: How To Get On A Preferred Vendors List

March 7, 2017 Raymond Hatfield

Todays Question: I'm a wedding photographer, whats the best way to get on a preferred vendors list?

Getting on a preferred vendors list as a wedding photographer can be a great way to build relationships with other businesses in your industry. When a couple books a venue, the venue gives the couple a list of vendors who they have worked with and trust. Getting on that list can put you in front of a lot of brides and is a great marketing strategy. To get on these venues lists, the best way to do it is by being genuinely interested and into their business. When you love what they do they will be more receptive to working with you. Ask to take a few photos so you can post them on your website. When edited, email those photos to the venue. Let them know they can use them in any print or advertising they would like, and you would enjoying working with them in the future.
