Daily Photo Q&A #33: Getting into Photography Without a Camera

March 15, 2017 Raymond Hatfield
how-to-get-into-photography-without-a-camera

Todays Question: I can't afford a camera but I really want to get into photography.

Photography can be an expensive hobby but great news, you don't need the latest and greatest camera to take great photos! Today cameras are everywhere. My favorite camera that I ever owned wad my iPhone 3g. It was a terrible, no good, very bad camera, and I loved it. It had so many limitations and was absolute garbage after dark but having to work within those limitations forced me to think differently about photography. So when the time came that I got a proper DSLR I was already 10 steps ahead of where I would have been if I had not practiced with my phone. I would recommend going to good will or a thrift store and to buy the old used $2 35mm film camera in the back but if you can't focus on using your smart phone. No matter how bad it is, its better than you think!
